CHIEF
ARCHITECT
The
office of the Chief Architect and Town Planner formed in 1995 after
amalgamation of the two offices with similar functions functioning under
direct control of Roads and Buildings Department of the Government
of Gujarat. The
two offices were office of the Chief Architect and office of The Chief Town
planner and Architectural Advisor, Capital Project.
The structure of the new office is as under.
Work and Working system :
The Town planning section of this office deals only with the Town Planning for Gandhinagar City and the peripheral area of the city. The office deals with following activities.
(1)
Preparing master plan of the city and areas outside.
(2) Preparing layout of major roads and rail lines in the region.
(3) Preparing layouts for residential area.
(4) Preparing Layouts for Commercial areas.
(5) Preparing Layout for Industrial areas.
(6) Preparing layouts for special buildings such as Capital complex, Town
hall and other public buildings.
(7) Preparing layouts landscaping of public buildings, parks and other public
areas.
(8) Guidance in policy regarding allotment of
land.
(9) Guidance for size of plot and land price in allotment
of land.
(10) Suggesting plots for auction for various uses along with base price.
(11) Preparing of Building Byelaws for the city and the peripheral areas.
(12) Suggesting Changes in the Byelaws from time to time.
(13) Permission for construction and completion of buildings as per the Bye-laws.
(14)Technical approval under the periphery Control Act 1960 for change of
use (Section-11) as well as to
start construction under section 5/6 of the
above Act.
